Pozzolanic activity quantification of hollow glass microspheres

چکیده

Hollow glass microspheres (HGMS) have been widely used in the hydrocarbon industry for cementing wells with low-density slurries. These consist of amorphous siliceous hollow spheres filled gas, providing a material high compressive strength. The present study aims to characterize interaction between HGMS and cement paste, focusing mainly on development pozzolanic activity, given nature silica. Thus, two different crush strength were studied. as replacement total cementitious binder at 10% by weight cement. activity was measured modified Chapelle test, portlandite quantification thermogravimetric analysis, index comparing hardened paste samples. Additionally, isothermal calorimetry X-ray diffraction patterns scanning electron microscopy images obtained. Results demonstrated that interact initially nucleation agents later reaction, presenting an comparable metakaolin or fly ash.

Finite Element Modeling of Tensile Deformation Behaviors of Iron Syntactic Foam with Hollow Glass Microspheres

The elastoplastic deformation behaviors of hollow glass microspheres/iron syntactic foam under tension were modeled using a representative volume element (RVE) approach. The three-dimensional microstructures of the iron syntactic foam with 5 wt % glass microspheres were reconstructed using the random sequential adsorption algorithm. The constitutive behavior of the elastoplasticity in the iron ...

CHARACTERIZATION OF MICRO/NANO POROUS HOLLOW GLASS MICROSPHERES FABRICATED THROUGH VARIOUS CHEMICAL ETCHING PROCESSE FOR USE IN SMART COATINGS

Porous hollow glass microspheres have many uses, including encapsulation of active materials. In this paper a fast and facile method for fabricating porous hollow glass-microspheres was demonstrated by etching them using dilute hydrofluoric acid. Then, a highly reactive amine was infiltrated into the etched glass microspheres. Scanning electron microscopy was conducted for the hollow glass micr...

Assessement of the Waste Glass Powder Pozzolanic Activity by Different Methods

The purpose of this work is the study of the use of waste glass obtained from crushed containers and building demolition as partial Portland cement replacement in mortar and concrete. For this, the waste glass must have the characteristics of pozzolanic material. In this context, a study of the pozzolanic activity of two types of glass clear and green coloured, with varying the particle size of...
